Dangerous Dog — Brooklynian

Dangerous Dog

A caramel-colored mastiff living on E. 5th near Fort Hamilton Parkway (near the rectory) has attacked two dogs while it was being walked. The two dogs that were attacked had to go to the animal hospital for treatment. One of the owners had to be hospitalized for three days, due to internal bleeding. In both attacks, the owner was unable to hold the mastiff back, due to the dog's strength.

  • Cross-post to the FIDO Brooklyn list with as much detail as possible like date, time of day, etc. Was there one or two seprate attacks? Were the police called? It is important to get the owner's name/address/other identifying characteristics. Since there was medical care needed I am assuming that a formal report was filed & that the dog is in custody. It is not just the mastiff's strength that is a problem, but the idiocy of an owner who clearly has no idea of how to train and handle a dog of substantial size.
