Friends of Dean Playground--help needed
Friends of Dean Playground:
We are looking for people to sit at our table just outside the playground on one of the next two Saturdays (18th, and 25th of June) and spread the word about the Friends of Dean Street Playground group, ask people to fill out a playground survey, sign and address a letter directed to the BSA regarding the green space in front of Newswalk, and sign our members list. June 18th is the beginning of the sign up period for the basketball leagues, so this is a good way to expand our outreach, if you could spare as little as 90 minutes.
Each Saturday, there will be two shifts: Noon-1:30 pm and 1:30-3:00 pm. People are welcome to partner up--could make it more fun and a little easier, though one person can certainly handle the task. If anyone will be taking their kids to the playground anyway during either of those times, that's also an ideal situation.
The dates are: Saturday, June 18th and 25th.
Thank you in advance to anyone who can do this. It will make a huge difference in terms of boosting the profile of the Friends group in the community and involving as many residents as possible in the renovation plans. There are ongoing negotiations between Parks Dept. and Newswalk developer (Boymelgreen company) that look promising.
Please reply by email, state your preference(s) of date and time, thanks again! We will get back to you on who to contact for the needed materials that day.
Regards and thanks,
Paul Sheridan
