Blood and Police Activity at 7th Ave Station/Christmas Eve

Anyone know what happened at the 7th Ave station last night (Christmas Eve)? The stairs to the inbound side were blocked off with police tape with an officer standing guard near a pool of blood and a cell phone at the top of the stairs. It looked a bit disturbing.

mugging around 6:30 pm. i got there soon after it happened, there was a guy who i guess had been mugged lying on the floor holding his head to keep it from bleeding more. blood everywhere, and no cops or ems in sight yet. the subway booth clerk was taking a report. someone said a guy in a red jacket had been holding him down and then ran off out the prospect heights side exit. i was alarmed at the lack of urgency in getting this guy care.
