New Year's Eve Plans — Brooklynian

New Year's Eve Plans

Subject: New Year's Eve Plans

Rather than another depressing discussion, lets try something light-hearted today. What do you have planned to usher out 2009 and start the end of the decade?

  • Partay! Then see the fireworks!
  • Staying home, as I like it. Was convinced to go out last year. After dinner, while my shoes were off and I went to get up to go to the bathroom at somebody's house, I skidded Risky Business style all the way across the wood floor by accident, smashing my toe so hard into the wall that I couldn't put my shoe on. Then I had to stand outside for almost 30 minutes trying to find a cab and somebody stole one out from under me. I would have totally given them a beating if I wasn't standing there with one shoe half-off on a night colder than yesterday

This was after an overpriced, crappy dinner.

Got home and thought "THIS is why I don't go out on NYE".

Most overrated night of the year.

Good food, good wine, good movie, good company (myself).
  • Might go catch the early Britta & Dean show at Southpaw, and then I'm heading home where a couple of friends are coming by. Don't much care for going out on NYE. It's usually just too much of a pain in the ass to fight to the bar, fight for cabs, etc.

Now, New Year's Day, that's a different matter. New Year's Day Drinking is my favorite event of the year. I scrape my friends off of whatever floor they're passed out on and we go on an afternoon drinking trip through the East Village.
  • Bump! Happy New Years everyone! :colors: :dj:
  • Have to work this evening until 10pm. I've plans that include ringing in the New Year with the family, Popeye's fried chicken, champagne, and Anderson Cooper.

    Have a happy one everybody!

I miss living near Popeyes.
