Kensington's Shopping District — Brooklynian

Kensington's Shopping District

Subject: Kensington's Shopping District

Dear Neighbors,

You're invited to hear Vicki Weiner, Director of Planning & Preservation at the Pratt Center for Community Development, speak at KARMA's next meeting of residents and merchants who are interested in the future of Kensington's shopping district.

We will talk about why our shopping district has its current mix of stores, how to keep local small businesses alive, and how we can plan the future of our shopping district and maintain its small-town feel.

Information about Vicki and the projects she's working on are at http://prattcenter.net/staff/vicki-weiner .

The Pratt Center works with community partners on new neighborhood-based and citywide strategies to strengthen neighborhood retail as a strategy for community economic development in a worsening economy. http://prattcenter.net

When: Tuesday, January 5, 2010, 7:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
Where: Old Brick Cafe Lounge, 507 Church Avenue, between E. 5th Street and Ocean Parkway
