a toast to george will at freddy's bar
Subject: a toast to george will at freddy's bar
the freddy's bar toast to george willand boycott of barclays bank
when: sunday, jan. 10, 2pm
where: freddy’s bar & backroom
485 dean street (corner of 6th Ave), brooklyn, ny
a champagne toast to george will? of course, compliments of freddy's bar. will's scathing column has spoken boldly about our shameful government corruption in the bruce ratner’s atlantic yards eminent domain scheme. he hit all salient points:
1. using new york state to steal land for politically connected developers
2. paying consultant akrf to find blight, as only a paid consultant will find
3. treating brooklyn residents, as the british did in 1776
freddy's bar staff and patrons thank george will for calling out the land thievery in over 450 publications, including the washington post. will's article will be read preceding the toast. the fightin' freddy's replies to esdc's threat to use physical force against patrons and residents who elect to chain themselves to the bar on eviction day to prevent freddy's from being destroyed for the barclays center stadium.
on monday morning jan 11, concerned residents present a request on fox news network, to pub-goers of great britain. we ask them joining our boycott of barclays bank, bruce ratner, acorn, and others. freddys has launched a new website to promote the boycott:
http://sites.google.com/site/drinkersunite/
the putrid smoke of eminent domain abuse is not confined to a designated smoking area. if our private land can be sold to moneyed men by way of collusion with shadowy albany agents and their bearded bedfellow, we all remain at risk.

Sounds like a blast. Did you hire the whiffenpoofs to serenade Will with a medley of 19th Century Princeton drinking songs? Did you procure his favorite cognac? Hope you know how to make gimlets.
I am virulently against eminent domain takeovers in any case, but I find it noxious that you gormless stooges have aligned yourselves with idiot conservatives like Will.
Pathetic that you are so totally owned and slavish that you have decided to embrace the neocon talking points about "Acorn" too. They run any nebulous garbage up the flagpole, and you dopes salute obediently.
Will bloviated in the article: "In 2005, the court held, 5 to 4, that New London, Conn., could take the property of a middle-class neighborhood and transfer it to a corporate developer who would pay more taxes to the city government than the evicted homeowners had paid."
Of course and obviously, to anyone who knows anything about that situation, the prime movers in that situation were ultra-conservative, chamber of commerce types who were desperate to see Pfizer come in. Capitalism was responsible.
You need to add a vicious excoriation and disavowal of a) corporate America and capitalism in general and b) the Iraq War to your platform to have any credibility at all.
Obviously, Iraq is the most gargantuan eminent domain case of all , the theft of trillions of dollars from American citizens to fund the Biggest Welfare State in History. And we didn't vote for it or have any say in it whatsoever.
Take that to your champions at Fox News, mug. -
Mountebank if you could humble us by attending Freddy's free sipping, I would certainly buy you additional cocktails once the free ones are gone. Druid in attendance will create a possible Hannity and Combs moment for my pleasure. Your view is one shared by many teabaggers throughout our great country. Red and blue can't learn from one another. Because Will is insistent on writing things that you (and I) infrequently agree with ,he is summarily dismissed as a left over big business Bush shill. Show up and loosen some more of those thoughts with the use of wine and spirits. Afterward we still may not agree but our mutual smelly breath makes for a shorter argument than the online version. Let me know if you will be wearing a tweed coat with leather elbow pads, if you go without a jacket wear an ascot ,or a peace sign tee shirt and bring works from writers that got what Will gets wrong so often.
-
Very amusing, catwalker.
But, sigh, Hannity and Colmes posited (again) as some sort of spirited contest of equals. How about Bubba vs. W? Bill Maher vs. Sarah Palin? Brendan Behan vs. Jim Cramer? Wonder who would win?
As to the event, I guess you guys will wear your tweeds and pitch your tenors in honor of the Great Man? Are bowties on the agenda? Don't forget that Obama is an Ivy man too. No praise of Harvard, please. Forget that Massachusetts pretty much invented the country. And don't forget to make some approving comment about the motion offense when you hand George his second Old-fashioned.
To tell truth, I actually find Will entertaining in his erratic bloviations. He's the American Christopher Hitchens.
No, I don't share any views with the teabaggers, actually. Freddy and Druid need to recognize that their alignment with them is aggravating the drunks. That is all. -

affirmative mountebank, a) and b) make terrible foes
as this post is dedicated to eminent domain abuse in new york
you must start your own post on these matters immediatelyMountebank wrote: No, I don't share any views with the teabaggers, actually. Freddy and Druid need to recognize that their alignment with them is aggravating the drunks. That is all.
red and blue have lost their ideal alignment
what odd times indeed
an angry republican speaks fiery truth
as democrat agents seem to be tied up and silenced
in land deals
in absentia, i'll toast one for you -
You're the one who wandered into babblement about Acorn and glorified Fox News, I guess you think that advances your agenda?

you must post about these immediately
or no one will know about your ground breaking news
about corporate america and current state of iraq -
You must explain your irrational hatred for Acorn, and why they have anything to do with eminent domain in Brooklyn. The floor is yours.
As far as Iraq, what it is, obviously, is a Giant Welfare State. We spent billions building bridges and hospitals there that we should have spent here. That is all. Any questions? -

no need to explain

acorn's silence = another fcr purchase
no questions, have i about your comment
but hurry mountebank, time is now your enemy
if you don't start a post about your ground breaking news
no one in the free world will know about such horrible things -
"acorn's silence = another fcr purchase"
Clear as a bell to me now, fishface. Or maybe not.
What now, little man? -
Mountebank wrote: "acorn's silence = another fcr purchase"
tsk tsk tsk for shame, name calling over opinions and news
Clear as a bell to me now, fishface. Or maybe not.
What now, little man?
meanwhile this topic returns to toasting george will at freddy's bat
for his scathing article on eminent domain abuse -
Where's your hysterical 5,000 word screed about Acorn and the Trilateral Commission? Not to mention the "bearded" foes you warn us of.
It's 2010, dude. And you're afraid of bolsheviks?
Some gormless bogman who thinks he's Irish evidently runs that sad bar. As a real Irish rebel in the spirit of Behan, I p*ss on that stooge from a DIZZYING height.
What do you think about that? -
if we could just harness that energy
what good the wind power might bring
does that mean your not not coming for the toast? -
Is Will actually going to be there or has he totally dissed you guys?
Tell the truth. -
Mountebank wrote: Is Will actually going to be there or has he totally dissed you guys?
for shame
Tell the truth.
you seem to have bold but very angry ideals
if you could manage your anger
you might steer it in a more positive direction
a toast to you in absentia for tomorrow -
Because it would be fun to challenge him to a drinking contest. I wouldn't show up with a gun and a poster depicting him as Hitler like your execrable tea-bagging buddies did to the President.
-
Wrong. You've aligned yourself with the rage-filled calibans, not me.
-
for shame mountebank
your anger spills over like wildfire
taking everything along with it
you must put it to better use
or to a good rest -
You protest too much, Karl. Your irrational anger is palpable.
You would do well to get your information from sources other than Hannity.
Stop imbibing the diet of crap.
Acorn didn't murder Jesus or orchestrate 9/11, despite what they tell you.
I'm just trying to walk you back to the latitudes of sanity. -
My original post was about unity. People coming together to consume glasses of deliciousness. Instead we now need olive branches instead of drink straws. Iraq,Acorn and even more floundering, the bearded foes? Is that a band or the guys who took away the bike path with some irrational breast fear? Capitalism and Corporations are both good and certainly sometimes bad . Brooklyn Coffee is a capitalist venture, have you sampled their buns? So sticky and covered with nuts,so fantastic. Freddy's has been serving happy endings with your clothes on to anybody with a 5 and an ID. Observed here, we disagree about lots of things .Now fat ratner wants to close down Brooklyn's version of a town hall meeting. Same amount of yelling only with music blaring in the back round. You guys need to agree to loose the the attitude and agree to meet at Freddy's. They encourage people to get in touch with their inner wrestler while drinking shots. Your superiority can be proven with a video game or deck of cards . Lets meet and discuss why George Will's recent articles on the Taliban,Acorn advisers, and the dwindling tax rolls are not as important as keeping pubs sprinkled in this area. Freddy's is being secretly drummed out of the neighborhood by Match.com and Whole Foods. Freddy's has been matching up people for years and have also been providing nutrition to area residents . I get most of my water from melting ice cubes they serve me in drinks . No matter who the messenger, the message is a good one. Don't tread on me...Bruce.
-
acorn... jesus... 9/11... hitler... hannity
me oh my
your anger has driven you to insanity -
bruce, are you ok bruce?
minutes await in silence -
Mounte, 9 out of the 10 voices in your head are telling you not to go Freddy's. Listen to the voice of reason. As you can see by his photo Karl is a snappy dresser and his head will puff up if he gets scared or angry. I will be the portly stump covered in cat refuse from hair to litter. I believe in miracles, the Jets just won!?!?
-
Karl is on tilt. He issued a post ostensibly about eminent domain, but it was suffused with bog-standard angry rightwing hysteria. He has an unhealthy rage about Acorn, and seems to think they are in league with Ratner and Hitler.
He basically said that teabaggers should run the country, while conducting an unhinged campaign to prevent the demolition of a bar.. How insane is that?
He raged against the "bearded ones" (whoever that means) and gets all huffy and belligerent when called on his obvious biases.
Karl is a Fox News viewer, rage-filled and sorely in need of deprogramming. -
tsk tsk tsk
bruce, you poor creature
what has lead you down this sad angry path
in just 38 posts -
If I had to guess I would bet Karl is filled with fish guts
-
Catwalker:
"Iraq,Acorn and even more floundering, the bearded foes?"
Karl brought up Acorn and the "bearded foes" as part of his initial schizophrenic babblement.
No, our opinions are NOT equal, relativist fool.
I brought up Iraq, because,um, like 5000 people have died there, tens of thousands have been wounded and crippled there, and I see them every day in the course of my work. Sorry to bum your stupid, thoroughly fiaccid arse out with the reality of what's going on in America 2010.
Yes, the Iraq debacle debacle is infinitely more important than whether some faux-Irish bogman bar gets demolished. And anything having to do with Acorn.
Sorry to confuse you with the facts. -
Mountebank wrote: Yes, the Iraq debacle debacle is infinitely more important than....
yes bruce, let all those dark stuttering angry tears run out
till there's not another dark tear to shed
you'll feel much better
but bruce after you have posted all that you feel
you will still not find the help you seek on a message board
what then? -
Karl..druids didn't really exist. And "nethermead" isn't really an actual place.
Btw, why do you hate America? -
oh my
soon we will called the freedom haters
bruce, in just 40 posts you've thrown the proverbial
gun in lieu of bullets (gilob)
now what will you throw? -
I'll throw your gormless arse into the Gowanus Canal and see whether you sink or swim, Hannity.
Howdy, Stranger!
