Mug-Making — Brooklynian

Mug-Making

Happy belated new year, everyone!

So I am also belatedly in the market for a Christmas present, and I want to make a mug. You know: pottery. Here's the catch, I guess: I want to make this a one-shot deal, where I spend an afternoon getting muddy and embarrassing myself with my awful mug-making efforts, then I glaze it, then I'm done. But places like The Painted Pot, which has been recommended, give you the option of either selecting pre-made bisque and painting it, OR signing up for a $350+ 10-week class. Does anyone know of anything in between?

Park Slope is better but I'm willing to put the time in elsewhere in Brooklyn or Manhattan.

Thanks!

  • You should PM Brooklynpotter - she is extremely knowledgeable about this stuff. I am not sure if she offers it but she should be able to point you in the right direction. Good luck!
