Uproar Art: Art Classes for Kids and Teens
I'm writing to introduce the brand new organization Uproar Art! You can find us online at www.uproarart.org. We're an innovative, socially conscious, skill-based art education program for kids and teens, operating in Williamsburg. This spring, we're running four classes hosted at the studio of our friends at Spacecraft (355 Bedford ave. Brooklyn NY, www.spacecraftbrooklyn.com). We're kicking things off with a FREE Open House on two days: Sunday February 28th and Saturday March 6th from 1 - 3:30 pm. Drop in any time for free art making activities, free refreshments, class information and on site registration. Dress for messiness, and get ready to have fun! If you can't make it to the open house, you can still register at any time for our spring classes, starting March 8th. Email us for more information at [email protected] or give us a ring at 646 353 3207. This spring's classes include:

Organic Sculpture: This class will allow you to experiment with sculpture without risking your health -or that of the environment around you. Learn to make a cast of your own body using a seaweed based mould material! Top chef’s got nothing on you when you sculpt with food. Did you know you can make a mould out of the backbone of a fish? All of these processes are designed with your health in mind, so learn to sculpt in this 6 week class using some strange but more importantly organic materials.

Turn trash to treasure: finished with your soda? Why not build a terrarium? Got a stack of magazines…did you know they could be a necklace? What should you do with all your too-small clothes? Why, make a reusable bag, of course! Learn the alchemy of recycling the materials all around you in this six week class.
