Organic Market Going out of Business 50% off entire

I was very happy to read about Kalechipper's new business. For those who don't know--the owners above have turned their loss into hopefully, a much bigger gain for all. Retail is too hard, and most civilians have no idea how difficult it is running a "mom and pop" store. Theirs was lovely, but.....
They are making delicious kale chips now, and I wish them all the best! Park Slopers-check it out! 100% pure and crunchy. I should know...

What's the other business, making store-shelf Kale Chips?

not necessarily.
30% off is cheaper than the Park Slope Food Coop
The Coop is 21% above wholesale, and they (we) get really good volume discounts from distributors. -
Do you know how much our store marks up? I don't think you know whether it is cheaper than the coop but since I know the books, I stand by my claim.

So, what's your markup?
As above, I know what the Coop's mark-up is -- and I know that regular stores are significantly more. It appeared foolishly unneeded to position yourself against the Coop, but that was your choice so . . . tell us. It's not unusual for people trying to make money in their commercial business to have a 100% markup. Even a 50% markup would leave things pretty even.

It might be usual for business owners to try to make money by marking up certain amounts however, I am not the usual person. I am ethical. If I state that the prices I am offering to non-coop members and coop members will be cheaper than the coop since we are liquidating, it's the truth. Don't you understand that we aren't trying to make money but rather selling out stuff at a really great deal? Why don't you stop by and take a look at the prices yourself and reply when you have more information?
See you there!

Yes Old time Brooklyn, We now have a solar powered warehouse in Crown Heights where we make the Kale Chips.

silly, I don't think it's unethical for a shop to mark up their goods to make a profit -- it's practically the definition of a store. The Coop uses an alternative business model. Nobody expects a tiny regular shop to have lower prices than a comparatively large buying collective.
I was in New York Naturals during one of those massive shelf-clearing sales in the past, and even at 50% off it was only worth my while to buy things not carried by the Coop. -
Here is an interesting forum on Coops

I was born and raised in Park Slope and was raised in the PSFC before it took over the carpet warehouse. I am a fan of the coop but I think our liquidation sale is worth checking out!!!
