Last Chance! Intro to Silversmithing starts MONDAY! — Brooklynian

Last Chance! Intro to Silversmithing starts MONDAY!

The first section 3rd Ward's popular, fun and informative Intro to Silversmithing Class for March starts on the 1st, this Monday. The class runs from 7pm - 10 pm at our Morgan ave. studio. This introductory class is perfect for first timers, or those looking to hone their skills. The first two weeks of the course cover cutting, filing, sanding, finishing and most importantly silver soldering. The second two weeks of the course focus on a more advanced metal smithing technique, as voted on by the students of the class. Past classes have included enameling, stone setting, cold joining, raising and forming and color in metals. This open-style class encourages students to create their own unique designs - no cookie cutter projects! Students will leave with at least one simple, finished piece, perhaps more, and with multiple samples.

The class cost is $290 for non-members, $240 for members plus a $60 materials fee (more on membership can be found on our website, www.3rdward.com). The class price includes 3 full days of access to our metal shop and jewelry equipment outside of class time - a $300 value. So please, come explore the wide world of silversmithing in a vibrant, growing artistic community.
