I can't say enough good things about Beagle and Potts Woodworking. They've been in Brooklyn 25 years and provide outstanding service from design to building to the final install. We had them do our kitchen, and a wall unit that included space for a T.V, kids toys, books, and a closet to boot. Check out their website at beagleandpotts.com. What a pleasure to find a company that is so pleasant to deal with. You can call them at 718.330.0921.

I don't want to discount your own experience, but I've heard v. good things about IKEA kitchens. We looked at IKEA, but we needed so many non-standard dimensions that it wasn't possible to use them. The price is great, but before I would have committed to an IKEA kitchen, I would have wanted to know more about long-term durability of the cabinets.
The trick, IMO, when you're doing renovations with any big-box store is to do your homework. Get the catalogs, study them, and make drawings of your kitchen (doesn't have to be professional; just use some graph paper and a pencil). By the time we ordered those cabinets, we knew the product line better than the Lowe's "designer" who was helping us and we were able to make a few creative changes that she hadn't thought to suggest. And also, take your time. This isn't a decision that should be completed in a weekend.Robp369 wrote: I can't say enough good things about Beagle and Potts Woodworking.
Wow, thanks for posting that website. I spent a good 30 minutes on there looking at photos. I know that times are tough, but that was a pretty gushy first post. Robp369, you wouldn't by any chance be Rob Pettit, would you?

Subject: Kitchens!
We just started looking into getting our kitchen redone and we are in the midst of converstions with Prospect Kitchen Gallery, Kitchenology and a dealer in Massapequa. We just started looking for contractors. Brownstoner has some good references and ideas as well (and I hate to admit this) Parkslopeparents.com. HGTV has thousands and thousand of pictures of kitchens and gardenweb.com has alot info and reviews. pm me if you want more info! -

What is their pricing like? They look expensive! -
I did a complete kitchen reno last year. I bought the cabinets from Lowes and used their contractor for the install. Am still very happy with the work. I ended up buying the counter tops from HD as they had the brand I wanted. Got a good deal on that as well.
