Verizon (land line) phone out anywhere else?

Our Verizon land line results in nothing but a buzz if you call in and no dial tone if you try to dial out. Not sure what time of day it started, but I did get a couple of voicemail messages earlier in the day. (Right now its Saturday at 9 pm) Wierdly, our DSL is still working. Anyone else with phone problems due to rain or wind?
