Space looks nice.

Ate here last night. Hothouse only pseudo-open, as they don't have their full menu nor liquor license yet. (Seeing the stock bar was such a tease! But you can BYOB in the meantime). The official opening will be around April 6, according to Ben, one of the owners.
But in a word: YUM! Since it was just my kid & me, we didn't even get to an entree, but the sides (creamed spinach, french fries) & appetizers (spicy chicken meatballs, BBQ shrimp with grit cakes; and black-eyed pea soup) were enough to bust our guts! We polished it off with a strawberry shortcake for dessert. Prices decent: $5-7 for apps; $13-$18 for entrees, which is just about right.
The space is super cramped with an awkward layout, however. Only about 6 tables that you have to squeeze in & out of. Not good for large parties. But I will be hanging at that bar though! And can't wait to try their Spicy Fried Chicken!
Kudos Ben & Craig! Tompkins needs this! -
It does look really nice. Can't wait to check it out.
Howdy, Stranger!
