We are a developing intentional community and activists' collective located in Bushwick, Brooklyn NY. (Morgan Stop on L Train)We currently have a few room shares available for qualified individuals interested in becoming active members of our organization.
A bit about us:
We are committed to social change both through community outreach and through the successful creation of a functional infrastructure within our organization.
We are committed to maintaining diversity in our membership (including but not limited to factors such as: ethnicity, age, gender, orientation, and affluence).
We are committed to existence as a functional example of alternative economy and sustainable lifestyles.
We are a consensus based organization, and our efforts are fueled by the volunteerism of our members and associates.

RENT & SECURITY DEPOSIT:
Rooms available are shares (with one other person).
The rent is $400/month + $85 utility/supply (includes electric, Internet, house supplies, and communal meals)
Security deposit, equal to one month's rent ($400), is required no later than the move-in date.
Deposits are returned within 2 weeks after your move-out PROVIDING that there are no property damages, rent has been paid in full to date, AND a minimum of 2 weeks notice has been given to us with regard to your move-out date.
APPLICATION QUESTIONS (MUST ANSWER):
To be considered for a place in our community, please answer the following questions:
1. Where are you from and what brings you to New York City?
2. Please tell us about your academic, professional, political, activist, artistic or other background.
3. What experience do you have, if any, with communal living?
4. What can you contribute to this community? (what are your skills and/or relevant experience that you believe would be beneficial to our organization either internally or outreach-wise? From cooking, to construction, to community organizing to give a few examples)
5. What do you need to feel at home in a living space?
6. What do you plan to bring with you should you become a resident? What type of belongings do you need space for?
7. What is your desired move-in date, and how long are you planning to stay?
All applicants are interviewed by our housing committee, which meets Monday nights weekly.
