If It Smells Like a Pot Warehouse, It Probably Is
Ah, the latest in a long line of "Huh, that's a pungent odor" stories that become pot busts: Police found a pot farm in a Brooklyn warehouse yesterday. The Post says the operation was "high-tech," with "elaborate lighting and ventilation system." But the lighting needs to be elaborate for the pot to grow - and it has to be ventilated, lest workers pass out from fumes. In the end, it was the neighbors who brought down the operation when they noted the odd smell; police found 600 plants inside and $200,000 in pot stuffed into garbage bags.

The warehouse was at 1572 Atlantic Avenue in Crown Heights, but the "farmer" was from Ithaca! Holla, Upstate!

The Ithaca thing isn't too surprising.

Tompkins County is well-known is this regard.
