I am trying to figure out which neighborhood gym makes the most sense. I suppose in theory I can afford Eastern Athletic (which is right near me) but I wouldn't use 95% of the stuff they offer so why spend so much of my salary. NYSC is close to being as expensive and seems like it's really busy all the time. Gold's Gym gets lots of complaints for their weird cancellation policy (they keep charging you until you write a formal letter cancelling your membership). Anyone have thoughts on these or other places to try? I'm by clark & henry.

Unless you work in Brooklyn, id suggest joining a gym in the city.

Crunch on Fulton & Ashland is good and they are open 24 hours.

Subject: Crunch in Ft Greene

This Crunch location has NO AIR CONDITIONING in the upstairs portion, where all the cardio and classes are held. It has been broken for at least three weeks. It also tends to be really crowed. I regret switching.

There's a new Equinox opening up but I can only asume that's top of the expense pool. There's also a YMCA that opened with that new building on the corner of Atlantic and Court.

I like the fact that EAC is "feng shui" and also, they have a lap pool.
