I tried to find a reasonably priced hair stylist who does good work on the Park Slope board but apparently one does not exist in that neighborhood. So I'm casting a broader net. Thanks for your help.

Gabrielle at Elements on 4th Ave and 3rd Street. She is amazing. She has done my hair for 2 years and I trust her completely. If she wants to try something new I have enough trust and faith in her to let her go to it and it always turns out awesome.

The Heights Salon just opened on Montague Street above the hardware store. It is a beautiful salon and really should be the kind of place worthy of being on Montague Street. Just stunning the job they did,

Mario just moved there. He used to be at Studio Fryzura, and before that, Hair Profiles where the UPS is currently. I've been going to him for like 10 years, and you won't go wrong with Mario. I always get compliments on my hair cut and color, and you will too. Give him a try. You won't be disappointed.

hey everyone,

i've just moved over from the UK. can you give me an idea of what's 'standard' pricing for color? i normally get a half head of highlights, and have no idea what's expensive and what's fairly standard...

Hi there-

A half a head of highlights will probably run you around $100 (somewhere deep into brooklyn) to $150-$175 at somewhere reasonable in the city. I personally charge $150 for a half head of highlights at my SoHo salon.
