LaunchPad needs some business cards. And a sign to decorate our storefront window. But first we need a new logo.

If you have ninja logo-smith skills, you're invited to create our new logo - participate in the LaunchPad logo contest. We want something fantastical and attractive to help represent our mission. It can be a hand sketch, a photo compilation, a graphic design, whatever. Just make sure to spell out "LaunchPad". Add a fun icon if you want. You have total creative freedom, anything in your crazy head is welcome.

LaunchPad is a non-profit organization focused on community programs, the arts, technology, and anything else that captures the imagination.

The winner goes home with treats:

* 10 hours private use of LaunchPad to do as you please. Time can be divided any way you want. Your own private artist studio or a place to play! Write a novel, suntan in the backyard, sing at the top of your lungs, throw a party. Your time, your fun.
* $150 cold hard cash.
* Permanent placement of your artwork on Franklin Avenue in Brooklyn.

We realize the challenges with too broad a project description, so we'll give input along the way. Every initial submission will receive detailed feedback, and a winning design will be selected from all second round entries.

Please submit initial entries on or before April 20.

Someone just showed me this website for logo design, looks like a pretty cool idea. I think the minimum cost is $250 so it might be a little more than you want to spend and the design may come from someone outside the community which may or may not be at odds with what you're trying to do but it's worth checking out.
