On Sunday, May 2, join Friends of Woodlawn for a concert and walking tour celebrating some of New York’s most famous and prominent Irish men and women.

Led by longtime Bronx residents Chris Sheridan and Anita Vetrano, the tour visits the gravesites of Victor Herbert (the successful Irish-born composer and conductor), Frances Millen “Ringleader” of the Jubilee Plot, Chauncey Olcott (who wrote the lyrics to “When Irish Eyes are Smiling”), George M. Cohan (“the man who owned Broadway”), Civil War Colonel Dennis Burke of the Irish Brigade, vaudevillian Joe Murphy of the “Kerry Gow,” and more.

Immediately following the tour will be a concert featuring Irish Folk artist Mary Courtney of Morning Star (a BxIndie performance sponsored by the Bronx Council on the Arts).
