Buying fresh fish? — Brooklynian

Buying fresh fish?

Anyone have recommendations for places to buy fresh fish in the hood? I can't seem to find any decent fish counters. (Only one I've seen is D&Y on flatbush, and it seemed really expensive.)

Any other suggestions appreciated!

  • Western Beef at Washington and Empire.

....they play better music as well (the store, not the fish.)

    DNY has good fish, though.
  • GAP farmer's market
  • Blue Moon at the GAP Farmer's Market.
  • There is a fish market on President St ( left hand side off corner of Nostrand Ave) .There fish has always been pretty fresh.. A worker once told me the way to tell fresh fish is to make sure the eyes look clear not cloudy or like they have a film over them.
