Sign a petition to Rep. Edolphus Towns about Darfur
Sorry if this post is inappropriate. Or if District 10 doesn't apply to PHeights (but I think it does). You can just delete if you want.
Anyway, colorofchange.org just sent me this (see below) and in case you couldn't tell, I think the U.S. should be doing more bring peace to the war in Darfur, Sudan. Basically they're trying to get 100 people to send an email to Rep. Edolphus Towns about the violence in Darfur.
So if you're interested, click on the link below and fill out an email form. Thanks and sorry for the intrusion.

The late Sen. Paul Simon said "If every member of the House and Senate had received 100 letters from people back home saying we have to do something about Rwanda, when the crisis was first developing, then I think the response would have been different." So we're trying to do that today--speaking with the voice of at least 100 people in each congressional district in America, to stop the crisis in Darfur.
I've joined ColorOfChange.org's campaign asking President Bush to take decisive action to stop the genocide occurring Darfur, Sudan. I wanted to let you know about the effort, and invite you to do the same. By raising our voices now, we can make a real difference in the way our government addresses this crisis.

Isnt there a rally in DC this weekend for Darfur?
-
Yep. I leave tomorrow. Luckily my parents live down there so I have a place to stay.
There are quite a few buses leaving from Brooklyn.
Darfur has gotten a lot of press this week, I'm really optimistic about the effect of the march. Sometimes it's hard to be optimistic about Darfur. -

I really wanted to go myself but I just couldn't. There is a group from the church going also.

It is such a sad situation - I really do hope this march has some effect
