GWH Block clean-up planting day: Sun., May 16, Noon–4:

The Concerned Citizens of Greenwood Hts. & The 23rd St. Neighbors Assoc.
Block clean-up & planting day: Sunday, May 16, 12 noon–4:00pm

The focus of the clean-up/tree pit planting will be the blocks adjacent to The Green-Wood Cemetery and the Greenwood Con Ed substation:


20th Street and 7th Avenue to 23rd Street and 7th Avenue
23rd Street between 7th Avenue and 5th Avenue
24th Street between 6th Avenue and 5th Avenue

Block clean-up & planting will include:

1. Street/sidewalk/tree pit cleaning & trash pick-up

2. Tree pit planting of perennial plant species

3. Tree pit adoption (planting annuals, watering, etc.)

Meeting/pick-up point: 311 23rd Street (btwn 6th/7th Aves)

We will provide gloves, brooms, trash bags, plants and soil. Please bring any gardening tools and equipment you can for the day.

NOTE: due to the 23rd St. Mega Stoop Sale’s “rain date” of Sunday, May 16, the block clean-up & planting day may be moved to the “alternate date” of Sunday, May 24th.
