Save the B71 bus...Eastern Parkway -> Union Street
The B71 goes from Crown Heights, through Prospect Heights on Eastern Parkway, then down Union St through Park Slope and Carroll Gardens all the way through to the Columbia Waterfront. It's going away at the end of June, like several other MTA bus lines.
Some kids use it to commute to school, lots of people use it to grocery shop in the Slope or go to the BBG and Bklyn Museum.
This is a done deal - for the moment. Community need and outcry will be a part of bringing it back, so please sign the petition and reach out to your councilperson and the MTA about the B61 if it's important to you.

Here's a good transit blog detailing the sevice changes

moving this from the Crown Hghts board to Park Slope...

It's all good! Danny Hellman says no one living in Park Slope needs a car.
We can all walk to the BBG or to Red Hook. -
I live in Carroll Gardens and its kind of cool how remote and secluded the neighborhood has become from public transportation. We don't have the "F" running on weekends and the B71 is being called out of service. It's a Secret Carroll Gardens

Danny Hellman never said we should do without public transportation, (although I do enjoy a nice weekend walk to the pupusa trucks every now and then).

Is this about the B61 or the B71? Could the original poster fix this?

I already signed the petition. The B71 is one of the two bus routes I regularly ride.
