SEARCHING FOR MR. CYCLONE CONTEST

The gates are now open for the big race of the season and whoever wins gets to be Mr. Cyclone, so get ready for the ride of your life!

The Winner of The Mr. Cyclone pageant will be named “Mr. Cyclone 2010” and take part in The 2011 Opening Day Ceremonies, The Mermaid Parade, receive a season pass to the Cyclone Roller Coaster for 2010, throw out an opening pitch at a select Cyclones game and revel in the glory of being Mr. Cyclone.

To compete for the coveted title of Mr. Cyclone, applicants must fill out and submit the application below to [email protected] by JULY 11 The lucky chosen will advance to a live competition with categories in style, strength, smarts, Coney Island IQ and romance. The Cyclone knows no fear and neither should you in your quest to become the first ever MISTER CYCLONE in the history of the free world!


Your application will be judged by a team of Cyclone experts, the final 20 contestants will have a profile posted on Cyclone Roller Coaster.com where the public will be able to cast their votes and send the top 7 to the final live competition in Coney Island on August 7th.

Contestants will be judged on strength, endurance, Coney Island wits, creativity, talent, style and romance.

The original deadline of June 26 has been extended to July 11. The contest is NOT a Cyclone riding marathon. It's a pageant & a fun new event. After riding the Cyclone ONCE, contestants will compete in the categories mentioned above.

The Romance Category will be a Dating Game style Q & A.

Current applicants include Cyclone fan, musician, actor, artist, circus clown. The Talent category may also include sports, literary and other talents.

In the Strength & Endurance category, contestants will carry a five-pound greased watermelon through an obstacle course while fetching a hot dog and a beer!

Our 21 semifinalists for the first-ever Mr Cyclone include 14 candidates from all over Brooklyn including natives and/or residents of Coney Island, Sea Gate, Brighton, Bay Ridge, Sheepshead Bay, Gerritsen Beach, Canarsie, Flatbush, Park Slope and other neighborhoods, as well as contestants from Staten Island, Astoria, Manhattan and New Jersey, and as far away as Ohio and Belgium!
