Writing Salons in June and July

If you need structure in your writing life over the summer, or you’d like to try a workshop with me, here’s the perfect opportunity: I’m running three writing “salons” in June and July. These salons will be structured like regular workshops — participants will submit work in advance, and the group will critique it. The difference is that you don’t have to sign up for every session, giving you more flexibility as you make your summer plans.

Here are the details:

* These will be craft-focused classes, open to both fiction and nonfiction writers, but limited to only four participants per group.
* The dates on offer are all Wednesday evenings: June 23, June 30, and July 7. Pick one date, or multiple dates, to suit your schedule.
* Each salon will run from 7-10 p.m., and everyone in the group will submit work — up to a maximum of twenty double-spaced pages.
* The salons will be held in a comfortable, private home in Manhattan, on 75th Street and West End Avenue.
* The price? Just $100 per salon.

If you are interested, please shoot me an email ([email protected]) and let me know what dates you’d like to sign up for. If you can, select some back-up dates too, as I expect the salons will fill quickly, based on current student interest. I’ll also try and make sure that you are placed with writers of a similar sensibility, so some flexibility would be ideal.

If a summer salon doesn’t suit you right now, I’m still available for one-on-one consultations. Contact me at [email protected] to discuss the options. And I’ll be running some of my regular, eight-session workshops starting in the fall and held at a new location — let me know if you’d like to sign up in advance to secure a spot.
