Seeking Contestants for the Coney Island Talent Show!

Join Miss Saturn and The World Famous *BOB* from 4-8pm on July 31st for the first ever Coney Island Talent Show on the boardwalk!

We are currently holding an Open Casting Call for all performers to participate in this historic event. If you’ve got talent, Entertain Us!

Categories for this year’s talent contest are:
-Best Drag Performance or Celebrity Impersonator
-Circus Freaks and Sideshow Geeks (including all variety, novelty acts)
-Dance your Pants Off (including soloists, troupes & step teams)
-Creative Kids, 9-12years
-Sassy Seniors, 60 and up

The sub-category in each level is Best Costume, so be sure and dress with pizzazz to this Coney Island affair! Singing is encouraged for all categories!

To apply to be in the first ever Coney Island Talent Show, please fill out the application below and email it to [email protected].

It is strongly recommended that you post a video of your performance on YouTube by July 16th, 2010. (Preferably the act you wish to perform at the talent show, no longer than 5 mins.)

The top 7 contestants in each category will be selected by a panel of top-secret Coney experts and asked to compete in The Coney Island Talent competition on July 31st on the beach.

1st prize in each category will receive a cash prize of $200, a season pass to participating Coney Island Amusements and an opportunity to perform live before a Brooklyn Cyclone’s Baseball Game, The 22nd Tattoo & Motorcycle Festival, or The 8th Annual New York Burlesque Festival.

2nd prize in each category will receive a cash prize of $50, and day passes to participating Coney Island Amusements.

3rd prize in each category will receive day passes to participating Coney Island Amusements.

The Best Dressed person in each category will receive a special mystery prize.

YOU MUST APPLY WITH THE ACT YOU WISH TO PERFORM AT THE TALENT SHOW AND SUPPLY ALL TECHNICAL DETAILS NOW.

IT IS REQUESTED THAT ALL PERFORMERS MUST SUBMIT URL VIDEO OF THEMSELVES DOING THE ACT THEY PLAN TO PERFORM IN THE CONTEST.

WHEN SUBMITTING A VIDEO URL, PLEASE MAKE SURE IT IS LABELLED with YOUR PERFORMER NAME, IS NOT PASSWORD PROTECTED, AND WILL NOT EXPIRE. PLEASE CONSIDER EASY SHARING SITES LIKE YOUTUBE OR VIMEO. DO NOT USE MEMBERS/FRIENDS ONLY HOSTS LIKE FACEBOOK.
