FUNDRAISER TO FIGHT RATNER's OVERDEVELOPMENT PLAN
All cover charge proceeds will go to the fight against the Ratner Proposal.

London punk legends The Spunk Lads will team up with Japanese/French/American pop scions Gaijin A Go-Go for a benefit concert at Southpaw, in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Proceeds will go to Develop Don't Destroy, the community group whose eighteen-month battle to replace Bruce Ratner's Atlantic Yards skyscraper compound with a true community development project continues its advocacy in full swing.

This will be THE SPUNK LADS' last ever major club appearance, retiring from the live stage after nearly three decades of seminal, ground breaking punk rock music. Progenitors of the London punk scene, the Lads left their lasting mark on dozens of punk legends, including the Sex Pistols, Clash, Jam and, a generation later, the Spice Girls, Dizzee Rascal and M.I.A. Their fiery mix of punk, reggae, ska, rockabilly and raw rock'n'roll forms the bedrock for lyrics celebrating rebels at the barricades, all night fish'n'chips shops, FA Cup runners-up, the fight for true love and the true love of the fight. The Lads' live shows are infamous for their celebration...and celebrated for their infamy.

GAIJIN A GO-GO is a booty-shaking 11-piece horn-stoked "mock Japanese pop band that flatters more than it mocks. [The band] plays sequin-studded 60s swing-rock that's good for a laugh and a twist.... The music is as hammy as it sounds, but the grooves are intensely infectious for those who like their ham heavily glazed. Be ready for ace costumes too." -The Onion
