This autumn for the first time, the best of Brooklyn's health and wellness practitioners will gather under one roof at the Alive&Well in Brooklyn Health and Wellness Expo. This FREE dynamic and interactive event will take place on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Textile Arts Center in Park Slope, and invites any individuals who want to learn to better care for themselves, and those already in the field who wish to network and share their knowledge.
In an age of growing pollution, processed foods and rising health care costs, the only real control people have, is over their own bodies. Alive&Well seeks to highlight and promote locally-based individuals and organizations whose focus is to introduce the philosophies and practices that support better health and wellbeing, in a fun and informative way.
Alive&Well in Brooklyn will encompass all disciplines - from Chinese medicine and acupuncture to massage, yoga, nutritionists, personal trainers and the latest in traditional Western healthcare - and will offer demos, workshops, and products. Every participating organization will be providing special discounts and promotions to visitors. Guest speakers will be on hand, including Francesco Clark of Clark's botanicals, and many others.
ORGANIZER: Alive&Well in Brooklyn is brought to you by Heather Alexander, founder of the Brooklyn Classical Reiki Centre. Heather is a former BBC reporter who has turned her hand to specialize in a subject close to her heart: the health and well-being of the people around her. She believes the way to support people as they navigate the world of holistic healthcare is top quality, impartial information and a strong foundation of experienced practitioners. Heather's AliveandWellinBrooklyn.com website is the start of a long term plan to offer great articles and host excellent events for people searching to be the best they can be.
VENUE: This event will be hosted by the Textile Arts Center - the home of Brooklyn's first ever dedicated textile arts space. It provides an environment for the professional, the artist and the student offering a fully equipped studio and gallery space. The Textile Arts Center is pleased to be the home of Alive&Well in Brooklyn and happy to offer full support to those taking part.
