Motorcycle Bricked — Brooklynian

Motorcycle Bricked

mougar
edited November -1 in Park Slope
My motorcycle got tipped over and smashed up by some assholes with bricks on union between 4th and 5th last night. If anyone saw something, or knows of a camera that could have caught it, let me know.

  • sad story!
  • Ugh, Mougar, that sucks. I'm really sorry.
  • Question - do you have a sense of when it might have happened? Perhaps one of the staff at 200 5th, Union Hall, or Palo Santo saw something?
  • Thanks for the sympathies, this would've been sometime between 11:30P and 7:30A, I'll check around with the neighborhood bars later today. Palo Santo would've had the best view, but they were probably closed by the time it happened.
  • Unfortunately I can only be added to the list of sympathetic.

I can be of no other help.
  • That sucks. :(

Is it just cosmetic damage or does it need work to operate?
  • Seems mostly cosmetic, but need a new mirror and starter switch. I cleaned off the tank and put some clear lacquer over the cracks in the paint, but the dents aren't coming out. No holes in the tank though so don't have to replace that at least, and no leaks from the valve cover they tipped it over on.
  • These are "bolt on" parts, so they could be removed and replaced using no special tools or skills.

I'd save money and contact one of the parts dealers that advertises with BMW MOA . www.bmwmoa.org

....by using parts from them I saved lots of $ and kept my 1979 R90/7 purring nicely.
  • Envious miscreants with too much time on their hands. Sorry for your
    bad luck.
  • Subject: wtf?! why?

maybe ask the people in union hall?

    sorry dude...
  • I have no idea if it would have caught the vandals but 658 Union Street, that fugly new condo building that sticks out like a sore thumb, has a security camera in the foyer.
  • Nice bike, bad people. Sorry that happened to you, dude.
  • that SUCKS. I can only add sympathies.
  • my condolences.

that said, I do often fantasize about destroying the pseudo-Harleys in my neighborhood
  • That really sucks. I'm so sorry this happened to you.
  • that's awful! but please remember, there are security cameras! the above poster noted the condo, and i would also look for more. good luck. so sorry.
