Donating Books? — Brooklynian

Donating Books?

Anyone have any suggestions for a good and easy way to get rid of a bunch of books? I'm not really interested in trying to sell them or anything -- anywhere you'd recommend to donate or maybe even recycle them? There are really too many to put out on the stoop.

  • Either leave them outside, they'll get read.... or give them to the used book dude on 7th btwn Sterling and Park. He's a really nice guy that brokers used books.
  • If they fit these criteria it would be really great to donate them to help out Daniel McGowan - info at http://bookthugnation.com/

ETA: if they meet the criteria but aren't sold they will then go to books through bars, another great group
  • I usually take them to the Info Desk @ the GAP Library, they're happy to receive them. Other stuff, too, like DVDs...
  • Subject: donate books

Bring them to the library, they can sell them and use the money for new books you can borrow.
  • Library or a local school.
  • Send me a PM if they are books for juveniles. My wife works with juveniles and likes to have books to give them.
  • Take them to:

    The Great American Book Drive
Brooklyn Public Library, Central Library Plaza
    Saturday, October 2nd
    10 am - 3 pm

Donate your own used books, or buy news ones at a $1 book sale. Either way you'll be supporting the library's collection.
  • Thanks everyone. I think I'll probably bring them to the book drive.
  • torisoaw, just a reminder that the Book Drive is tomorrow. See you there!
