Illegal Dumping around Sterling and Classon — Brooklynian

Illegal Dumping around Sterling and Classon

Someone is dumping construction debris onto tree stands and sidewalks around Sterling and Classon. This mostly consists of broken-up concrete, apparently from a driveway.

I want to call 311, but suspect they won't be of much help unless the culprit can be identified. I suspect there is some construction going on the DL without a permit nearby which is the originator of this rubble.

Anyone have any leads?

  • Are you sure tthe city isn't expanding the tree pits and leaving the debris there? There was a lot of that going on Sterling btwn Washington and Underhill yesterday.
  • The city is dumping Prospect Heights trash in Crown Heights? It wouldn't surprise me :)

None of the tree pits were expanded on this side of Washington. They are filled with concrete, and there is also a large pile of concrete next to the large empty lot on the south side of Sterling between Washington and Classon.

I don't think any municipal agency or contractor would stoop to this level.
  • Theres a phone # you can call to report illegal dumping and theres also rewards for information ie:License plates. If that doesnt work, call the sanitation Police direct.
