getting to JFK today and dog question

How long will it take to get to JFK this afternoon? I need to pick someone up around 5:15. Also, anyone know if there's a place to walk my dog around there? Growing up, our local airport had a little park area where you could watch the planes take off and land, but don't know if there's such a thing at JFK.

Thanks!

As far as how long it will take, you should go local, take atlantic to north conduit avenue and allow yourself at least 1:30 hours with this weather. There is a lot of flooding in the roads now.

Normally it should take 45-1 hr.
  • If you get there early, I usually use the Ramada Inn parking lot to hang out until the person I'm picking up calls me. That's not a bad location to walk a dog, either.
  • From my friend at the Port Authority:

"There is a "doggie area" near each terminal where you can walk your pet. In addition, the is a "cell phone lot" which has a grassy area if you'd like some more room. That lot is before you get to the terminals, so I'd use it if you have some time to kill. Just follow the signs for the cell phone lot. If not, ask the redcaps near the terminal where the doggie area or handicap/service pet area is."
  • Thanks, all!
