Looks like South Slope is in for a nice treat. I passed by 4th Avenue (condominium building btwn 19th and 20th Street) while a muralist was painting a wall inside what is Nature’s Delite. I spoke briefly with the owners. The store will be carrying wholesome packaged and canned foods and a variety of hot foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner...yay (finally). What I found most interesting was that they will be the only place so far I’ve come across in South Slope that will have a create-your-own-salad bar. Seems like we will finally have a genuine healthy place to eat. The owners did mention that they are also carrying basic groceries in an effort to provide service for everyone in the neighborhood (including those who cannot meet the expense of paying for healthier foods).
