Whats with sudden outpouring of extreme unhappiness with the way the Mods run this blog?

Whats with everyone feeling super entitled?
Make that Extra Super Duper Entitled. Lordy, its crazy.
Here's an idea...if you're upset about people changing what you write, deleting etc....THEN 'BLOG-SHOP' ELSEWHERE!

I agree with all of you that its NOT right when they meddle with all these little things just because they can,it irks me as well ......but this blog wasn't started by YOU...nor is it moderated by YOU....which you knew when you first started coming here

Buck Up People

  • I agree that those that started this site can run it in any way they see fit. However, before people decide to go elsewhere due to potential mod meddling, they're voicing their opinions to give Brooklynian a chance to make some changes.

As far as I know, none of my posts have ever been tampered with. If that changes, I will leave this board, as will, I assume, many others if the behavior continues. I hope that doesn't happen, as I enjoy visiting this site.

I don't want Brooklynian to ever be in danger of becoming a dead board due to excessive abuse of the mods, which would dissuade people from posting here. I think someone (sorry, I forget who) was right in suggesting that any mod in an argument/discussion within a thread should forfeit their right to moderate that particular thread.

  • I like that idea.
  • Thanks to everyone for your candid comments here and elsewhere.

Please note that the Mods and Admins are indeed listening, discussing it among ourselves and committed to implementing new policy based on your feedback intended to restore greater confidence in management and sense of community here.

Your patience and ongoing ideas and support here is very welcome and appreciated.

    Perfectly said anthony thank you!

To me it has been more or less a few posters who seem to be dissuading people with their holier than thou attitudes. I guess there is always the "internet Jesus" looking to save us from ourselves.
  • NEVER!
You know best, stacey,we know that, i am NOT taking that away from you!
Sorry if it came across like that.

No issue, I like what you posted and pretty much agree with you.
  • Good to hear from you Jeffrey.
  • Besides Anthony's thoughtful analysis of the issue, I think that the people who post here should be able to expect the moderators to adhere to The Rules that they set out (and commonly refer to).

If The Rules had read "Moderators reserve the right to edit, delete, or otherwise change your post at will," I could have made a choice whether or not to participate knowing what was really going on.
