As part of our continued CCGH arts, music and education outreach, here's the latest from our largest neighbor, Green-Wood:

THIS WEEK @ GREEN-WOOD

FEATURED EVENT & TOUR:

Folkloric Haitian Music, Drumming and Dance from La Troupe Makandal.

Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 4:00 PM This late autumn walk features

Afro-Haitian dance and music from La Troupe Makandal and its master

drummer, Frisner Augustin. (The recipient of the National Endowment

for the Arts' Heritage Fellowship, Mr. Augustin is also the artistic

director of the group.) Green-Wood Historic Fund's manager of

education and outreach, Steven Estroff, will lead the tour. An

exhibition of ceremonial Haitian bottles and a discussion of Haitian

culture by artisan Kesler Pierre follows in Green-Wood's Historic

Chapel.

Event & walking tour: $8 in advance/$10 at the door.

10% of box office sales will be donated to Doctors Without Borders to

help combat the cholera epidemic in Haiti.

In conjunction with Brooklyn Arts Council.
