The recent re-edition of the movie made me think about A Virtue Attached To A Recreational Skin.  I haven't yet seen the alternate beginning and ending, but rethinking the whole notion of identity, secrets and what one does in and out of the skin(s) they don, impels me to wax (and to invite others to join in) about the notions of identity -- racial, heroic, pitching, or catching in the rye/wry.

Saw the last Batman for about the 4th or 5th time; it's interesting to me to whom Batman reveals his identity --  the butler (Michael Caine) and the brother (Morgan Freeman). Couldn't help but imagine how a movie made where either of these two gentlemen are the protagonists would look like, what the content would be, how they would describe how they perceive the Batman skin, and their own skin. Also, when one thinks of Batman -- either in the comics or in the movies, one can't help but think about the color of his skin: a silky dense blue-black which puts fear into the minds of all.

Years ago I recall the first 'Predator' movie, and how now Governor  Schwar-ze-negger (Black-Cool-Negger), in order to foil the dreadlocked alien had to become invisible to him, and in order to do that, he had to don the black-brown earth as skin to become invisible to the predator. Whoa! What a trip to the brain! A man whose name has color, attitude and racial connotation becoming blackened (and thus invisible) to then beat up a dreadlocked (-- and in the words of the Governor himself) 'pussy-faced' brother from another planet.
