Wanted: Picture of a fistfight — Brooklynian

Wanted: Picture of a fistfight

I'd like to see a picture of a fistfight or some sort of confrontation between the friendly Metro guy and the AM New York gal who hand out papers at the GAP 2-3 stop. I mean, like, pretending to be in a confrontation.

This may be a stupid idea.

man, i hate that annoyingly patronizing metro guy. hes like friendly to a fault sometimes... not trying to sound like an ass here... but when im ALREADY reading a metro, its sorta absurd for him to try to push another one into my hands. i start trying to avoid him 20 feet in advance when im forced to take the GAP 2/3 some days (as opposed to eastern pkwy). hes always hassling me about taking an amNY or telling me i should put down whatever book i have my nose burried in and pick up a metro. i also have specific disdain for him because hes one of those people that jabbers at me like "hey there big guy! hows about a paper! lemme give ya a metro... you know you want it! you dont need that stupid book/ipod/doughnut, holmes!". i hate that soooo much.

he also freaked out on me when- in efforts to curtail his overzealousness- i told him about hte metro racism scandal of yore... he was like "so what?!" which i found amusing, as he's black and employeed by a company thats openly used the N-word in jokes at corporate events.

fuck that. i cant deal with that sort of crap first thing in the pre-coffee morning...
  • That dude needs to GO. He and his repetitive, patronizing, faux-cheery, "I used suck dick for crack till I found God" bullshit peppiness makes me want to kill and smear blood on the walls. I don't read either rags, but even if i did, I'd never take anything from him, just for principle. What is that guy on?

phew! im glad to know that my feelings about him arent unique
  • Another thing that bothers me that both the AM and Metro people do is they give out the paper to anyone, little kids, whoever. Not that people should be denied the opportunity to read crap that has barely even run through a copy editor, it's just that often when I'm approaching the stop a large posse of schoolkids is usually always coming out. They all take papers, don't even look at them and after walking about 20-30 feet, drop them on the ground. Both of the paper people see this, know this and still do it. They don't clean it up either. I know, I know, they get paid by volume distributed and it's NYC, whaddaya expect. But still, it disgusts me.
  • Have you noticed that the 2 trash cans about 20 ft away are always full now?

I don't particularly like these guys and the picture of a fistfight idea is kind of funny, but it's also very Howard Stern-ish (a la "bumfights"), and kind of feels wrong.

the whole concept of amny and metro is wasteful. ubiquitous, low-content papers fulla mistakes. every day when i get on the path, its littered ankle-deep with those things! i always get sad watchign hte poor guy at the end of the line having to bag it all up.

but its something to read on the train i guess...
  • it's slightly better news content then rupert murdoch's craptastic toilet paper mag- ny post...i am happier to see a train full of robots reading the am/metros than the other waste.

the littering...well i think that more has to do with the folks that do it than the items being littered.

It's both equally, but i get your point.
