PLEASE HELP SEARCH FOR LOST DOG LEXI (FRANNIE) PROSPECT PARK
Hello everyone - we are organizing a search party for a dog who has been missing since 12/4 in the vicinity of PPW & 7th Street. Her pic is on fidobrooklyn.org lost page - she is a 2 year old honey colored long haired shep mix. Her story is unique because she was rescued from the Rockaways months ago from a feral colony. This is why she is so shy of people. She was adopted to a couple and got loose when they were taking her to the park 12/4.
We desperately need a crew of people - esp this Saturday to go into groups and comb the park. If you can help please call 917-232-5562 or email [email protected] - thank you!!

Is anyone checking her original colony of dogs or where they lived? Dogs have uncanny homing abilities...
Good luck with the search! Hope you come up with every lost dog, Lexi and any others.

thank you daniel!

yes people still feed and take care of the orig colony so if she happened to show up there she would be spotted. she is very afraid of people so i'm not sure she would venture back to queens but who knows. so scary but hopefully we will get a good turnout saturday and be able to cover more ground.
-
I work from home and live near the Park so I can go sooner than Saturday - like today or tomorrow if needed. I don't like thinking about that dog being out in this cold for so long.
-
I'd be surprised if the dog is in the park still. I still look for her, but I don't really think she's there. I've been taking my dog through the secluded parts of the park, where I expect such a dog would be if it were there, on our twice a day walk, so hours have been spent in these areas every day and I have not seen one sign of her. I hope she is found soon, wherever she is. I can't imagine how upset her people must be.
Have there been any sightings of her anywhere? It would be so helpful if she had been spotted somewhere so flyers could be put up in that nabe--Prospect Park is covered in the flyers, which are very good, but I'm guessing people who might see her are not in the park vicinity.

Just got this update on where they are searching, and she has been seen. Info from the email I got is below.

Please dress warm, bring clear packing tape for posting fliers, a kennel lead/leash, and smelly tasty treats.
We ask that you post a copy of Frances' lost flier in the back window of your vehicle and keep your flashing hazard lights on as you post/search.I've attached a copy of Frances lost flier as well as guidelines to be used if Frances is sighted.

Any luck finding her?
-
I saw an update somewhere that she's just keeping on the move but still being spotted, which is good. It think she's pretty much been going south from the park and was around 90th St.
-
Where are these updates? Can you provide a link please? Thank you.
-
Sorry, too out of it to remember where or look--post-op pain meds have me in and out of whatever. I often check the Fido site and Craigslist and my friend has run into the owners when they were talking to someone about it one day, so not sure which source. Just wanted to update what I remembered.
-
As per Fido - Lexi has been found!
-
All right! Yea Lexi! Was she just found now - what's the story? Did she go on some Incredible Journey with other animals? Any cute pics of her reunited with her people?
It's good to hear something good for once.
