Introductory Winter Camping Trip — Brooklynian

Introductory Winter Camping Trip

We know, camping in the winter doesn’t sound to appealing. Trust us it is!! There is nothing like building your own personal snow cave to bunker in to at night. This trip is designed to VERY GENTLY ease participants into the art of winter camping. After only a short hike we will arrive at our shelter along the Appalachian Trail. A stones throw away is a meandering brook leading into a very quite lake, perfect for star-gazing the winter sky. Our lean-to is equipped with a fireplace to ensure that no one gets cold at night. No experience is necessary and participants will receive instruction and hands on practice in a low pressure, relaxed atmosphere. Topics will include effective layering to stay warm and dry, winter weather considerations, and cold weather ailments (and how to avoid them).

All food and sleeping gear will be provided.
