We invite you to join us in this uplifting and exciting concert experience as we celebrate an essential component of our uniquely American musical canon with works from African-American and Appalachian roots, including spirituals that often served as veiled forms of socioeconomic protest, rousing gospel favorites, and other traditional expressions of faith and hope.

This concert is to benefit the work of PACC's social service department at Gibb Mansion, a supportive housing facility for formerly homeless individuals suffering from chronic illness. Gibb Mansion was completed in 2002 and includes 71 furnished studio apartments, communal dining room and kitchen, library, 24 hour security, meeting, laundry and exercise rooms as well as a fully-staffed social service office. Grounded in experienced case management, services comprise a continuum of on-site and linked mental health, medical, and substance abuse services, vocational, educational and life skills training, peer discussion groups, acupuncture, nutrition and meals. The program's goals are to empower clients in accessing the services that they need to maintain housing stability and achieve good health.
