where can i buy alot of plastic pots for plants cheap?

i got 29 plants that needs to be poted right away. since the contractor has all his stuff in the garden. cant do any planting. and i have alot of bulbs that thank god are dormant.

don't know how big your plants are, but there were a TON of small plastic pots left out, free for the taking, on the sidewalk of prospect between classon and grand. that was monday, so they may well be gone, but if they're not, you can't beat it for cheap.

i need large pots thanks though . i have like 29 rose bushes and 2 peonys . blah not my timing.

the BBG* store is pretty reasonable for large pots, esp with your member discount

I also use bulk olive containers (or huge mango chutney tubs if I'm lucky enough to catch them being thrown out at local Indian restaurant.)
Or compound buckets. Make drainage holes in all the above DIY options.

Or keep them in what they are in if it's just for a month or so. Peonies dislike being transplanted.

the thrift store on vanderbilt between park and prospect has TONS and TONS of planters for sale in their garden out back.

i was desperate . went to lowes right after i posted this. order online and went to pickup. lesson learn never order online and do a pickup takes way longer than just pickup the stuff yourself and buy it. god . so tired hrs of transplanting from tiny bags with roots into pots and puting soil in them.

blah the cheap plastic stuff i brought from lowes were drowning my plants. pots were full of water. so i took the bottoms off.

I have always hated pots their lack of drainage, so this year I went to the park and gathered up a bunch of medium sized rocks. I put them in the bottom of the pot in a double layer, leaving room between them. This created a buffer zone between the bottom of the pot and the soil--keeping the roots from rotting.

Its kinda like the rock layer before you hit the water table. Yes, I paid attention in enviornmental science. :P

Plus, I found a big hunk of pyrite by the side of the library!

wait wait . are you allow to take stones fromt eh parks? lol i always thought about taking some for something like this but was afraid i'll get arrested for it.

You're probably not allowed, lol. I didn't take them from the areas where signs say "Don't disturb the wildlife". I got a lot off the median*, actually. I'm sure I should get paid for doing that!
