If they sold it, I'd buy it — Brooklynian

If they sold it, I'd buy it

Just a random thing I was thinking about today to ask all of you: do you ever think of things that, while they do exist, are not generally sold or sold separately, that you would buy if it were available?

The thing that sparked this, and the only thing I can really think of right now, is that I really like the sweet soy sauced-based dumpling sauce that comes with dumplings at the Chinese place near me. You can get an extra small container of it for 50 cents more, but I thought if they bottled it and sold it (which they probably do at Chinese/Korean grocery stores, but this is just an example!) then I would buy it.

Your turn.

  • I'm pretty sure that the dipping sauce that comes with chinese dumplings is a watered down version of hoisin sauce, and, in fact, you can buy it...or make it yourself.

I wish cigarettes were sold in small packs, like in Europe where you can buy 1/2 packs.

  • I was once in a Chinese restaurant and wanted the same thing for home, so I asked them what the dipping sauce was for the dumplings. I was surprised to find out it wasn't soy sauce or hoison sauce. It's malt vinegar with ginger in it. I suggest trying that - shred some fresh ginger into some malt vinegar. You could maybe add a splash of soy sauce, but I doubt it needs it.

How about wishing for things that don't exist, but should like Swiffers you can wear on your feet.

But what I desperately wish the world would invent is wireless ipod earphones. With all this wireless crap, why am I still untangling my damn headphones 5 times a day???

  • Eton should bottle and sell their homemade plum sauce.... and while we are wishing for things... does either of their 2 places deliver to PS? (I'm thinking about lunch already
