Woke up to cop screaming that he'd shoot -Prospect between Franklin and Bedford

At 6 this morning I woke to the sound of a cop in my backyard, screaming at someone to lie down or he would be shot. "I will fuckin' waste you," stuff like that. Three other plainclothes cops arrived soon and took the guy away. Prospect Place between Franklin and Bedford, South side of the street. I'm wondering if there's anywhere to get info on the situation.

You can call the precinct and ask, but be prepared for them to tell you nothing. Personally, I do think that if you are the homeowner/ tenant the cops should wake you to at least alert you to the fact they are in your backyard, or to tell you what the outcome is (for example, what happens if the guy ditches a weapon back there and a child finds it), but I've been around long enough to know that the popo operate on a strictly need to know basis.

If they are chasing someone on a felony, one that warrants a gun drawn "I will fucking waste you" if you don't lie down command, I think its unreasonable for them to have to ask permission in advance.

...but I agree, it would be nice if homeowners could be told after the fact what went on that warranted the interruption of their sleep and intrusion of their property..

I agree that asking in advance may be a little too much, but a ex post facto "Hey we cornered a rapist in your backyard" would be nice.
