Cokehead Cop wrecks self @ Bar Reis

  • Cem Kurtulus (from the BP article) gets my award for best quote of the year when describing the guy who wrecked the car:

"... he looked like the most unstable guy on earth."

  • I also liked the "Jaw twitching".

  • I saw that Charger on 5th ave yesterday morning (pretty late- probably around 11:30) It was totally mangled and there was *still* a pretty decent crowd just looking at the car. Its a wonder that he could manage to go fast enough on 5th ave to wreck the car that effectively...it looked like it had been hit by a semi truck.

  • Seems like the NYPD has covered it up pretty well - no mention of the accident other than the BP and Patch.

Can you imagine if this guy wasn't a cop? Some coked-out drunk speeding through a residential neighborhood, injures two cops while running a red light?

He'd be front page of the Post by now.

  • Too bad Slavic Soul Party wasn't playing at the time. That would have added a nice soundtrack to the chaos.

I wouldn't count it out for tomorrow.

    Totally. LOL!

  • Yeah I guess they are concentrating more on the store of the policeman that died in the line of duty Sunday in that precinct. His funeral is Friday. I didn't read anything about that here though.

  • Regardless of the very helpful fact you highlight, it is actually perfectly reasonable to discuss this scandal and threat to public safety.

we dont need anymore dead cop stores! we need a toss-in salad place!

  • I am with you on that one!

  • tsarina, the other story was read but not commented on http://brooklynian.com/forum/boerum-hill-cobble-hill-carroll-gardens/this-is-awful-domestic-violence-and-a-dead-cop

As Boygabriel said, it is perfectly reasonable to discuss this scandal and threat to public safety.
