What’s a clothing swap?

A clothing swap is an excellent way to recycle clothing and other wearables. It is a time-appropriate event for people who recognize that we need creative and inexpensive ways to re-new our wardrobes. It is a fun, smart and eco-friendly way to de-clutter our small spaces. At the same time, you can meet interesting people, and find a bunch of new clothes, shoes and other unexpected treasures.

swap * meet is a social gathering that aims to lessen the amount of clothing/textiles that will end up in landfills. Through this form of recycling, participants will benefit by ridding of their unwanted clothes (or other wearable accessories), mingling with some cool folks while satisfying the desire for attaining something ‘new’. Swappers will not acquire debt, guilt or stress from swapping.

To ensure that all the clothing from swap * meet stays out of landfills, leftovers are: sent to textile recyclers, up-cycled into reusable items or will be donated to local charities.
