It is in good working condition and the performance is very good. I don't know what panel-type it is, but the micro-contrast and color fidelity puts current $200-$300 TN panels to shame. This would be a great addition for someone getting a little more serious about photo editing. I would use it as a second monitor, but I lack desk space.

As mentioned, it is in good condition, but in the interest of full disclosure, it should be noted that it was having problems that led to its replacement. There was some strange flickering/color fringing that was sometimes alleviated with tapping (usually an indication of a loose connection). After tapping no longer worked, it was replaced. As is my want, I took the ViewSonic apart and ensured that all ribbon connections were properly seated. After putting it back together, it has been problem-free for about 6 months. I don't think that it's going to crap out any time soon, but it's not out of the realm of possibility.
