American Staffordshire Terrier (Chico) Needs A New Home!

Hey guys:

Erica here from Fucked in Park Slope. Was just walking in the park and ran into a woman who desperately needs to get rid of her dog Chico.

I posted about him here: http://www.fuckedinparkslope.com/home/fips-cares-can-someone-please-adopt-this-dog.html

He's an American Staffordshire Terrier, who seemed super sweet and played nicely with my dog for a few minutes. Apparently the family's landlord is threatening to evict them if they don't get rid of Chico. They've tried some local shelters, but everyone is full and no one will take him.

I personally called BARC and Sean Casey and both are full. She does not want to take the dog to a kill shelter, and I'd really love to try to find a good home for it.

Anyone have any ideas? Or want to adopt a sweet pup?

thanks!

  • You should tell them to fight it! If the dog's been living there for more than 3 months and the landlord has known about the dog but didn't do anything about it, then they can't be evicted or be forced to give up their puppeh.

  • Aww man thanks for helping this cutie pie out. I hope he finds a good home. I also suggest fighting it but if not you should also post on Fidobrooklyn.org Good luck and with a cute face like that I know it will all work out for Chico.

  • Hey guys, I have this dog. He's boarding at my mom's kennel right now, his name is Chi (idiot owner named him Chino Brown after a rapper, how unique). We got him neutered and vaccinated (owner hadn't done anything), an amazingly awesome benefactor donated the entire amount we spent (don't know if she minds being outed). Chi was very depressed, he also has a bad infection from the neuter so he's on 2 antibiotics and pain meds now, the vet didn't give him anything at first.

Chi will be seeing a trainer this week but really needs a stable foster home, poor baby has been bounced around to so many different places in the past few months. He's good with most dogs except dominant males, he seems to be good with cats but we're not sure yet. He did live with a cat before with no problems and doesn't seem bothered by our store cats. If anyone is interested in meeting Chi, please let me know. He's such a sweet boy, loves to play, and give hugs.

  • Chi is doing really well, infection is all gone and his trainer loves him. She said he doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body and is a total sweetheart. He's such a good boy and will be at an adoption event this Saturday and the next if anyone wants to meet him.
