According to owner Tony Fisher, Bob & Betty's Food Market - formerly Fisher's Supermarket, will hopefully be reopened for business by this Friday!
Shelves are already fully stocked with healthy looking choices.

The names of Tony Fisher's parents - the original owners of Fisher's Supermarket.
I was thinking more Teas and organic popcorn! lol, there are more pics, but you get the overall idea!
Wider aisle's, organic brands etc
-
doesn't look like it compares to Compare
-
Don;t think it was necessarily meant to. Fisher's is much, much smaller space, it is not a "supermarket".
-
Will it have a big deli, prepared food section?
I think something like Union Market (but less expensive and upscale) would do ok in that location.
-
I think it may have a prepared food section. When I walked past I saw one of those free-standing units that usually holds sushi, sandwiches, salads, etc.
-
i could definitely see fisher tapping into the sushi market. and organic stuff.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Compare has a weekly flyer with sale items, really good prices, good price for decent bread. I find many frozen items, french fries and vegi patties are higher than NSA,Associated and even Keyfood. Fisher's place is clean and has lots of needed items. I hope that he plans to get at least to 90's grocery technology..Tony..barcodes!! When you run out of catfood or litter don't assume that the cheapest brand equivilent you can get from the distributor is ok. All cat food and litter is not created equal.Compare has low end pet food, big disappointment. Tony step up. Same w cheese, I buy cheese at the old Fisher's for 2 weeks straight go in on the 3rd week, brand and price is different. Same at Pulp and Bean you fall out of love w your distributor but the customer still wants the product, Water and soda are not predictable at P and Bean, forget about Steve's, I love keylime anything but your set of the pants ordering makes getting a pie from the source in Red Hook or Pk Slope coop easier. Tony and his brother have really done a great job remodeling and have really kept the gas pedal down,so that he can reopen sooner rather than later. Tony you better carry Swingles from Steve's for the summer..or else

Tony should not attempt to compete with Compare directly.
He should provide convenience and quality. No cat food.
Think Union Market.
Tony's competition is Pine Tree - Nams.

Dude- you really should stop drinking that early in the day. -
If Pine Tree is Tony's competition, he wins.
I went into Pine Tree a couple of weeks ago and the woman cashier watched my every move, communicated utter disdain for my presence and just generally treated me like dirt. I was shopping at Nam's before it was Nam's, so I am familiar with this woman...with their upgrade, it seems they no longer want folks of color darkening the place up... -
A first-time poster registering to call someone a racist -- this is what Brooklynian is all about!
Sounds like you have an open and shut case, by the way.

morning, mr met. not a first time poster, but did forget my login, because i read, but rarely post. Am I reading it right that the 'open and shut case' is an attempt at sarcasm? If so, I find that completely insensitive. Racism is a real, tangible thing, taking the form of daily indignities and disrespect, and I'm not sure why you would be so comfortable with public dismissing that. It's akin to the glass ceiling, no one is dumb enough to come out and say 'you're not getting a promotion because you're a woman' I have been going in that store for a decade, and the change in behavior was marked, and so apparent that other customers started to watch. Brown people are always asked to pipe down and suffer in silence until they have some sort of proof. Should I wait til they shout expletives and try to kick my a**. I posted not for my own benefit, because if that was the case, I would have just cursed her out. I posted so that people who have any concern for equity and justice would be informed so that they can shop their values...if that wasn't sarcasm, my bad and happy Friday.

I don't think the people working at Pine Tree like anyone, no matter what color they are.
-
Customers open the front door and let in hot/cold air. They muss up the neatly arranged displays on the shelves. What’s to like?

Great, now that Bloomie knows where Franklin Ave is maybe he can give the snow plows directions next blizzard.
Howdy, Stranger!
