Parking in the Slope — Brooklynian

Parking in the Slope

edited November -1 in Park Slope
I've got some friends visiting from out of town. If they can find parking on the street (which I doubt), are they allowed to park where they please? Or does Park Slope require vehicles to have permit stickers for parking in certain areas?

Also, does anyone know of good (safe, affordable) parking garages in the Slope?

The friends are just visiting for the day. Thanks.

  • they can park any where they want as long as they can find a parking space. legal parking space i should say. just watch the signs on the street. besides there are parking garages in the area.
  • Subject: Parking

    1) READ THE SIGNS. If it says no parking 8a-11a Tuesdays, it means just that. You will get a ticket, and a nasty sticker from Sanitation saying you were in the way.
    2) FEED THE METER. If you find a metered spot, feed it with quarters.
Most places in Slope give 1/2 hour per quarter.
    3) DONT PARK: In front of hydrant. In front of school or house of worship.
In spaces marked for deliveries or commercial vehicles.
    4) DONT PARK: In my driveway or anyone elses. You WILL get towed.
    5) PARK: In a paid garage. There are some in the Slope.
  • I've used the garage on Union just below 7th a few times when I've had a car to borrow or rent. There is another one on Union just below GAP.
