Cat Crying on 6th and 15th - Did You Lose Your Cat?

I saw this posted on PSP this morning. Hopefully this cat belongs to someone or else maybe someone at least can get it to a shelter.

There is a lost cat on the northwest corner of 15th and 6th. Very friendly, very hungry. Someone who lives on that corner said that they haven't seen the cat before this morning. I don't think it's a feral cat because it's so friendly and is mewing for help. I think it's someone's lost pet.

I called Sean Casey Animal Rescue but they won't get back to me until 11:00 and I don't know if they pick up stray cats anyway. If it's your cat or you can help this friendly cat, please go to the corner of 15th and 6th! It's a tabby cat with amber eyes.

  • What's the deal with all the lost cat post?

Is there any word on the whereabouts or what happened?

  • Try to get a pic of the animal and put the description up on a couple of common sites such as craigslist and tabby tracker. Ask any repliers to send you a pic as well to avoid bunchers, dealers and collectors trying to snag a free pet.

Sean Casey doesnt pick up usually unless the animal is wounded. No agency that I know of picks up stray cats anymore unless the animal is injured or you are connected with them. If this cat goes to the city shelter (AC&C) there is a high probability they will be put to sleep and they do not make any effort to search for owners even when the animals have microchips.

The best you could do it get a carrier and put the animal in it yourself and take it to a vet asking them to just check it for a microchip. If there is one great if not them get a flea treatment (drops not collar) and bring it home then start looking on sites for lost pets and advertising him as found. If you dont hear anything in 2 weeks time then see if you can work with a local rescue group to find him a home, often they will let you bring pets to their adoptions events if you volunteer your time to help out. The group will often help with making sure the animal is fully vetted before being adopted as well.
